我們常說的一些中文表達，不能逐字直譯成英文，要知道英語里對應的說法！
01、'母校'英文怎么說？
母校的英文是什么？當然不是mother school？外國人一般不這么說。
母校的英文是：alma mater！你不認識很正常，Alma mater是個拉丁詞,原指“kind mother”（慈母） ,現(xiàn)常用來形容“母校”或“高校的校歌”。
例句：
Tsinghua University is my alma mater.
我的母校是清華大學。
“校友”英語怎么說呢？在英文中用“schoolmate”或“schoolfellow”來指代“校友”，當然，它們也有“老同學”的意思。mate和fellow就表明了其中所蘊涵的感情。
例句：
He met an old schoolfellow at the party.
他在聚會上遇見了一位老同學。
02、'母語'英文怎么說？
母語 ≠ mother language。
母語一般分成2種：
掌握最好的語言：native language（說得最好最多）；
小時候?qū)W說話時的語言：mother tongue（爸爸媽媽教的語言）。
Her native language is Chinese.
她的母語是漢語。
Chinese is mother tongue，English is the second tongue.
漢語是母語，英語是第二語言。
03、'母女連心'英文怎么說？
龍生龍鳳生鳳，母女連心，用地道英語怎么表達合適呢？我們一起來學習下下面的這個表達：
母女連心：The apple doesn't fall far from the tree.
例句：- Mother: I’m going to go shopping!
- Daughter: Me too! I love shopping!
- Father: The apple doesn't fall far from the tree.
- 母親：我要去購物了。
- 女兒：我也是，我喜歡購物。
- 父親：真是母女連心啊。
最后還要講一個類似表達，a chip off the old block，一個模子刻出來似的，酷似雙親，是指外表或性格酷似父母中一個的孩子。
She is a chip off the old block; she acts exactly like her mother.
有其母必有其女，她的一舉一動與她的媽媽一樣。
