01.soft soap
soft soap的意思可不是說“肥皂很軟”，
它的意思是“奉承”或者是“過分地恭維”某個人，
意圖說服某人、獲得某種東西或達到某種特定的結(jié)果，
意思其實與soft 和 soap 完全扯不上關(guān)系...
舉個例子
Don't let his soft soap get the better,

02.a soft spot
a soft place in one's heart意為“某人心中柔軟的地方”，
其中soft的意思是tender"溫柔"。
后來這個短語逐漸簡化為a soft spot，意思指的是：
A particular fondness or affection for someone or something, o
ften for reasons that hard to understand or articulate.
對某人或某物特別喜愛，
通常出于難以理解或表達的原因

03.soft touch
今天我們要講的第三個習慣用語是：soft touch，
它指的是“一個很容易被說服去做某件事的人”，
也就是說這個人“很好說話”。
舉個例子
He has a good heart and he is a soft touch for people in a tight spot.
他心很好，聽到有人有困難他很愿意幫忙的。
例句中的詞組：to be in a tight spot 的意思就是指 處境困難。
04.soft pedal
Pedal指踏板，例如鋼琴的踏板，或縫紉機、自行車的踏板。
soft pedal的意思是淡化某物的重要性或影響，
也就是“低調(diào)處理”。

with the controversial activist in recent months.
