中文中有個成語“覆水難收”
意思是倒在地上的水難以收回
比喻事情已成定局，難以挽回
英語中也有一樣的表達：water under the bridge，
意思是：已成往事，不可改變的既成事實；無法挽回的過去
說這句話一般用來表示：過去的就讓它過去吧，已經(jīng)無關(guān)緊要了，不提了
舉個例子：
Yes, we did have our disagreements but that's water under the bridge now.是的，我們確實曾經(jīng)不和，但那已是陳年往事了。
